Our approach recognizes the strong link between sustainable livelihoods, environmental stewardship and the realization of human rights.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Why We Do This<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Rural communities in Rwanda particularly women farmers and vulnerable households are highly exposed to climate change, environmental degradation and economic insecurity. This pillar contributes to national and global priorities, including:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><strong>Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8:<\/strong> Decent Work and Economic Growth<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13:<\/strong> Climate Action<\/li>\n<li><strong>National climate resilience and green growth strategies<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Strengthening rural livelihoods while protecting natural resources is essential for long-term community resilience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Our Approach<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Tubibe Amahoro applies a <strong>community-driven and rights-based approach<\/strong> that places local people at the center of environmental and livelihood solutions. A key entry point is the establishment and strengthening of <strong>Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs)<\/strong>, particularly among women\u2019s cooperatives and rural groups.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Through VSLAs and community structures, we promote:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Collective saving and access to finance<\/li>\n<li>Skills development through practical trainings<\/li>\n<li>Environmental awareness and behavior change<\/li>\n<li>Social cohesion and mutual support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This approach strengthens economic resilience while enabling communities to invest in sustainable practices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>What We Do<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Promote <strong>climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture practices<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Support <strong>rural women farmers and cooperatives<\/strong> with improved seeds and technical training<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate access to <strong>savings and credit<\/strong> through VSLAs<\/li>\n<li>Promote <strong>tree planting and reforestation<\/strong> with women\u2019s cooperatives and community groups to combat deforestation and soil erosion<\/li>\n<li>Promote the use of <strong>improved cook stoves<\/strong> to reduce firewood consumption, deforestation, and carbon emissions<\/li>\n<li>Raise community awareness on <strong>environmental protection, climate justice, and sustainable natural resource management<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Climate Action Innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Through integrated initiatives such as improved cook stoves and community-led tree planting, Tubibe Amahoro enables communities to become <strong>active agents of climate action<\/strong>. The project is being implemented in <strong>Ngororero, Rutsiro, Nyamagabe and Nyaruguru districts<\/strong>, focusing on empowering citizens to engage in public policy processes, monitor service delivery and strengthen dialogue with local authorities.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Cross-Cutting Themes Integration<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Across all its programmatic pillars, Tubibe Amahoro integrates cross-cutting themes including <strong>Youth Empowerment, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), ICT Inclusion, and the Inclusion of People with Disabilities<\/strong>.
